In 2023, the NY Times sponsored a day at HH Cherries with u-pick cherry picking and cherries jubilee. With 800+ people attending, it was a great time had by all… and we knew we could do more! More personal. More engaging. More innovation. More food!
Featuring Chef Jimmy Schmidt
On July 20, 2024 HH Cherries hosted a “Cherry-Ganza” curated lunch by three time James Beard award winning chef Jimmy Schmidt celebrating all things cherries. Chef Schmidt served and shared several recipes highlighting the power of sweet and tart cherries to truly delight one’s culinary taste buds. Jimmy prepared Angus Brisket Sliders, beverages, appetizers, salads, and of course, Jimmy’s unique spin of Cherries Jubilee! Each adult ticket included 5 lbs of U-pick Cherries and the trees were loaded, those buckets filled up fast!
Our New Project
We were also excited to unveil a new and original cherry product! HH Cherries is now the home farm of Red Truck Orchards, a new collective of farms producing an artisan cherry wine vinegar. The purpose of Red Truck Orchards is to support and strengthen small local farms. As part of this project, Phil has been working for six years to develop an innovative product made from Montmorency Tart and sweet cherries. Red Truck Cherry Vinegar has a bright and smooth taste compared to apple cider vinegar, while packing the antioxidants and anthocyanins found naturally in cherries. Chef Schmidt’s beverages, dressings and ice cream toppings (yes, vinegar based topping on ice cream) all highlighted this new product and a bottle was included in each person’s admission, with recipes to try at home. Thank you for being a part of our new and exciting product launch!
